baseball

I'm not sure why it took so long, but I've fallen in love with baseball.

sail away

My parents bought a sail boat and we got to go for a ride.  Shuttling children around in kayaks is the best way to start any adventure!  Sailing through the fog was pretty cool.

No trip to the beach would be complete without hunting for crabs or wading-turned-into-swimming!

juicing

I bought a juicer and we loved it while the markets were on and there were fresh fruit and vegetables everywhere you looked.  I juiced everyday and it was fun experimenting with different combinations. Our chickens were in heaven eating the leftovers!  The magic was lost once we had to get everything from the grocery store.  I guess we can call ourselves "seasonal" juicers.  Our best combo was peaches and yellow squash.  Even Alice, who pretty much hated all juices loved that one.  Can't wait till next year!!

happy birthday america!

The Borgs love the 4th of July!  It is probably the most exciting day of the year over here, Christmas being a close second.  We are so lucky that we have family who will travel to spend this thrilling day with us!  The men returned from their little shopping trip with some basic needs.

motorcycle rides

We went to a BBQ at our friend's house.  They had fresh cotton candy along with the usual delicious picnic foods.

Waiting for the show to start

 roman candles are the best!

Junior loved the fireworks.

hiawatha

We finally tackled the Hiawatha Trail!  Justin and Valerie and their kids came to visit and we decided it was time to do this.  love 22

James rode tandem behind Jacob and loved every minute.  He didn't whine or complain once.  In fact all of the kids were real troopers!

Hailey and Alice coming out one of the huge train tunnels.  I have been hearing about this ride for a long time.  Nothing prepared me for the real thing.  It was so amazingly beautiful and those tunnels were incredibly dark.

The adults and Junior on our lunch break.  I'm the only one without sunglasses because I accidentally left them on in one of the tunnels and freaked myself out really bad.  I couldn't figure out why it was so dark.  It was terrible and ridiculous.

I got to pull Junior (and our lunches) in this cool buggy.  He slept a lot of the time.  He did have a little adventure when I hit a bump and rocked his world but he was happy the whole way.  Hailey knit him that cute hat.

rafting

Jacob bought a raft this summer and started a new family "thing" (hobby sounds too tame).  He took the kids a number of times.  They had so much fun and they came home alive each time!  I stayed home with James and Junior so I can't wait until next summer.  Notice the go-pro, Jacob wanted me to be able to share in the experience after...  Click on the photo to catch the expressions on their faces.

school starts

Here are the kids on the first day of school.  Ada- 7, Alice- 5, Jack- 3, James- preschool.  They are so precious.  I feel like the luckiest girl in the world to be the mom of these children.  Each is getting to be more unique and individual.  I have always been so sad to think of my kids growing up and now that it is happening so quickly,  I'm trying to stay positive.  They are truly interesting people, the kind of people I'd want to be friends with.  No, Ada is not taller than me.  Not yet.

I love this momma and her baby too!  I'm so happy she let me come visit when little Tom arrived.

practically perfect

The girls and  I went to see Mary Poppins in Spokane.  I loved it!  It was fantastic!  I would see it again and again.  I have always had a special place in my heart for Mary.  I'm so glad she didn't disappoint.

sleepy brothers

I think I might love my boys when they first wake up best of all.  A sleeping baby is pretty wonderful too.

seaside with the thompsons

We started our spring break with the Thompsons by meeting in Portland and having a picnic in the temple parking lot.  We walked around and enjoyed the scenery and spirit we felt there.  Then things got pretty rowdy...

We ended up in Seaside sharing a cute little house right by the beach.  The weather sucked but we had the best time ever!

Jacob filmed the whole trip with his go-pro.  It was hilarious.  Rick called him Gandalf all week.  The footage is unreal, especially the pool, the windy tower and everyone riding around on that cart thing.

I love this girl, Michelle!  We had such a good time together, with the babies of course.  If you're going to be left out of the action, it's nice to have someone so cool to sit around with.

The family, soaked, in the rain, with the kite, and the beach toys at Haystack Rock.  We couldn't be happier!
