What I would really like to be blogging about right now is my new, beautiful, sweet, baby boy. Unfortunately, I need to get the pictures from Jacob's computer onto mine. Instead I will blog briefly about the other things I grew this summer. I decided to do my planting in galvanized containers this year. I used the square foot gardening recipe for soil; one third peat moss, one third vermiculite, and the last third a mix of 5 different composts. I think it worked pretty well, my most successful garden try yet. The deer stayed away for most of the summer though they did eventually eat everything except the onions. The turkeys joined the deer for the buffet too but oh well. Someday I'll have a fence to keep the critters away. I planted pole beans, cucumbers, squash, beets, peas, onions, zucchini, tomatoes and peppers.
