little james

My number 4 child has many names. I'm always curious what he thinks his real name is. Tonight I was helping him brush his teeth. As we finished I said, "O.k., time for bed Fred." He replied with indignation, "I not Fred. I'm Jimmers!" This kid is continually making me smile.

dress for the occasion

I also had to add this picture. Everybody female and boys under 3 at our house on the 4th dressed in red, white and/or blue. There were a lot of us since Jared and Jodie, Alex and Amanda, and all of their kids came up to party with us. Anyway, here comes Jack. "Mom, do you like my colors?" The answer is Yes!

perfect weather for fun

In September we held our Primary activity at our house. We hosted a fun run. I mapped out a 1/2 mile loop around our farm and asked the kids to bring white shirts and ties to donate to the missionaries in the Cape Verde Mission. It was a huge success! The weather was beautiful and the kids had a great time running and playing together. Most kids decided to keep going and completed at least 1 mile. One boy ran 3 1/2! We had our ward missionaries give a little speech about being good and following rules so that the Holy Ghost can help them find "golden" people who are ready to hear the gospel. Then the race began. If they stayed on the trail (followed the rules) then they came upon "golden" coins for each to take home as a reminder. What a good time! I missed Alice come across the finish line because I was recording times. Bummer. Those two big boys, Cody and Cody, stayed with James and helped him finish. Such champs!
